Swedish Open plagued by ferocious weather

Bad weather battering Sweden

Heavy rainfall unleashed chaos, crippling transport and destroying infrastructure - mostly in the Skåne and southern regions.The ferocious weather, Sweden's worst storm for 30 years, saw winds of more than 140km per hour and waves reaching more than 10m causing splashing wet conitions that now has forces the Swedish Open Tennis Championships to change venue to the indoor facilities of Bellevue Stadium. 

Hans Háfjall of Thorshavn, the world´s no. 5 rated tennis player welcomes the change of venue:
"I prefer water in my Ouzo - not on the tennis-court!"
