As runner-up, defending WorldChamp Claus Holmen, Mr. Rasmussios had won all his matches.  

The Greek and Holmen both had the dissatisfaction of drawing against the unpredictable German giant, Alexander von GrossenCock. But they survived with life and limbs intact.
